Feels Like Sunday Morning There's a phrase that goes something like: "take advice from those that seldom give them, rather than those that cannot stop giving it." guy never heard of a shrink.... In any case I heard my self say this today and I was thinkin: "....most people don't realise that when you worship a human being, adore, idolise them, befriend them in admiration of a wonderful person; looking up to them, you give them opportunity to look down on you..." I've realised now, after saying it, why I've lost some of my dearest friends. Because I've helped them feed thier own ego. And it grows to suffocate our friendship. So to those of you who felt I've never been significant enough to be a close friend because all this time I've been looking up to you, then don't say those words that makes me feel important in your presence, when I don't see my existence in yours..... "only in times of hardship will you find your true friends/b, you know we'll go through it till the very end." - suf :) suf rambled at 4/28/2005 09:25:00 pm
Feels Like Sunday Morning Life. People. Human beings are amazing creatures. Experiences. Memories. Secrets. Sufferings. Personal. The history of man as we know it is but that film that forms on your tea when it's been left too long on the table. That film only thickens when you share your history. Your experiences. Your memories. Your secrets. Your sufferings. Yourself. Yet so when you do, you believe they are the most important things in the world. Believe that everybody sees it as you do. But all you have done was to put a mask infront of your face; and the next time they see you they will see that mask. Until you share yourself again. Until you paint more designs to that mask. Until you die. And all the time you think no mask is as great as yours. No experience, no memory, no secret, no suffering; as great as yours. Why me. You ask. Don't ask. Because it's not you. Because no matter what you have gone through, if you can read this you are priveledged. Fortunate. Lucky. you have electricity to run your computer. Money to spend on the net. Time to waste. Eyes to see. Knowledge to read. Mind to think. You're lucky. Luckier. Luck isn't too kind to those that are poor. Blind. Insane. But how much time can you spend? Money? Effort? Who can spend more? You're luckless as well. Lucky. Luckless. Now what makes you think your mask is the greatest? A beggar dies in an alley of Khao San Road, Thailand. A leader of a nation chokes on a dry croissant dining in Paris. Guard on duty stuck by an arrow falls two storeys to his rocky death. A king suffers from a fatal heart attack due to his extravagant diet. Same oxygen through thier lungs. Same colour of blood through their veins. Same organs, limbs, functions. Same angel of death. Different masks. None greater then the other. Just different. But who is more interesting? A drying old man sits across you in the train and you think. Birth. Childhood. Education. Love. Hate. Friends. Enemies. Parents. Children. Fortune. Luck. Life. What was his experience. Memories. Secrets. Suffering. His life. How great. How who even cares. The richness of it. The insignificance to the world. Is he thinking the same about you. What are your experiences? Memories? Secrets? Sufferings? Life? Your mask? Human beings are amazing creatures. suf rambled at 4/05/2005 11:50:00 pm
